The cancelled date is an illustration of the damage being done when some people decide they get to lie to themselves and force the rest of us join them in their lies. It wastes the time (and time is our most precious resource on this earth and even more so for women who want a family) of those who are looking to start a family. It damages those who may have made the mistake of thinking that the person they were asking out was someone who could produce children with them. That is a fundamental life decision. What does it do to the confidence of someone who has made such a mistake? How badly does it undermine their ability to ask anyone else for a date?
