This is a my attempt at a short note on the Zimmerman - Martin trial. There was a lot going on here, but, if you've been following it since it occurred, you probably already knew what the outcome would have to be. That is because regardless of whether or not George Zimmerman was doing more than his civic duty, whether or not young Mr. Martin was behaving badly, the bottom line is that at some point, young Mr. Martin struck Mr. Zimmerman in the head. Any blow to the head can be deadly because we keep our most important stuff there. At that point the use of lethal force became Mr. Zimmerman's prerogative.
What concerns me far more about this whole mess is the fact of the involvement of the DOJ. The reports are that not only did the DOJ send out a contingent to help organize rallies(or foment race riots which, thankfully did not occur in spite of their meddling-a testament to the character of Americans at that time) but they also interfered with the employment of the chief of police and a few others in the Law enforcement hierarchy in this community. That's inexcusable.
When did it become the DOJ's place to do such things? Did they have the approval of Florida's governor to come into his state and behave badly? How did they dare to violate a state's sovereignty in so bold a fashion and why is the media continuing to frame this case in the most provocative way? It would almost seem that this administration and their media lackeys WANT there to be race riots and for what purpose? If you've been paying attention, you already know and if you haven't, I strongly suggest you start giving a damn about politics.
As for Mr. obama's personal role in stirring this pot, it's shameful. He could have been a unifying force reinforcing the respect for families and good parenting, but instead he chose to be divisive as he has throughout his time occupying the Oval Office. For this reason alone, (as is true for his actions and inactions in Benghazi, as is true for his continual gifts of aid and comfort to our enemies, as is true for his role in Fast and Furious, in spying on the American people, in destabilizing governments across the globe and for flouting the rule of law along with his own oath of office here at home) he is UNFIT for office. Where is the Congress and why are they allowing this man to continue to sit there in violation of their own sworn oaths?
The Congress is supposed to be doing what is best for the nation, not for themselves, their re-elections, their parties or their constituents-except as that serves to make the nation stronger- or anyone else, but for the nation. And yet, they continue their partisan bickering and squabbling while the nation disintegrates around them. Shameful.
"For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

To Alter or Abolish
Mr. Obama has once again shown how jarringly out of step he is with American ideals in his comments to Egypt yesterday. "The United States continues to believe firmly that the best foundation for lasting stability in Egypt is a democratic political order with participation from all sides and all political parties," His urging to restore leadership to a democratically elected government not only presumes that democracy is the form of government the people of Egypt want, but hints that he would rather like to see his muslim brotherhood compatriot Mr. Morsi reinstated.
This statement: "Obama said the United States expects the military to "ensure the rights" of Egyptian citizens "during this uncertain period." indicates a fundamental lack of understanding of the American ethos. One that, sadly, is shared by too many Americans.
We just finished celebrating Independence day in America. It is a day that commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This document recognizes that both the form and authority of government comes from the people and that the people are to be those who decide their form of government. Should this apply to Egypt? In my opinion, BECAUSE I am an American, it should. To quote the D.O.I. "--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." However, I recognize that the people of Egypt are adults who can make their own decisions. Perhaps, at this point, they would prefer a military dictatorship or even some sort of monarchy. The point is it is up to them to decide. At least by my uniquely American understanding.
In the opinion of the founders of this nation, a democracy is less desirable than any other form of government because it provides the least stability. It is mob rule rather than rule of law. So to see the usurper who is sitting in the seat of the POTUS urging the citizens of another nation, who have just stepped up to the plate of designing their own government, to adopt a democratic form of government is appalling. He might as well be saying, yes, set yourselves up for failure, so that I can assist my good buddies in the muslim brotherhood into power again.

Immigration Madness
The senate went ahead and passed the monstrosity put forth by the supposedly(by their republican membership) conservative Gang of Eight. The claim is that we neeeeeeeed immigration reform.
That we need it for a number of reasons and that it wouldn't be fair, somehow, not to reform it.
The question arises "fair to whom?" The overwhelming argument seems to be that those who have come here in violation of our laws are owed some sort of consideration. That even more we must cater to those who have come here illegally and made or brought children with them who are then plunged into a morass of criminal victimization, being both criminals by their presence here and fodder for criminal elements, not the least of whom are the very coyotes who effected their infiltration into our nation.
This is not fair to us. The citizens to whom the Congress is supposed to owe their allegiance. The citizens who elected them. The citizens who can and should recall them.
I will grant you that it is very sad that children are affected. Children are often affected by the criminal actions of their parents. Does that mean that our laws should no longer be enforced against anyone with children? No one would or could reasonably argue that the harm done to the children of thieves or murderers, who are citizens, by enforcing the law against them is reason enough to let them go free. Yet that is the very argument we are given for immigration.
There is the argument that they are here doing jobs that "Americans won't do". Rubbish. Unemployment is still rather high in this nation and there are people who would do any job they can get just to put food on the table. I know some of them. Construction workers alone would refute that argument.
It seems to me that the truth is that the Congress is running out of money and rather than cut spending responsibly, they would rather find new people to tax. Apparently spitting on the current citizens and those who have bothered to come here legally is A-OK with the gang of Eight and those other senators who voted for this bill.
Mr. Whittle, of PJMedia, has said the problem is one of jobs. Maybe it is, but that doesn't justify allowing our laws to be disrespected.
A real solution might have been for Congress to fully fund ICE for the next 3-5 years and let them do their jobs. During that 3-5 years, while the American people are being reassured that the law is being enforced properly, the Congress could create a realistic guest worker program and streamline the application process for citizenship. Perhaps that sounded too difficult and complicated. It was easier, no doubt, to allow special interests to write a huge omnibus bill on the order of obamacare, full of God alone knows what and pass it so we can find out what's in it.
Shame on them.
