For most of this country's history state pride was taught in the home so much so that a lot of people identified themselves as Virginians, Texans, Wisconsinite or whatever state they were from. Sadly, today most people only refer to themselves as Americans. Which is why they probably refer to our Republic as a democracy. It's nice to see some Tea Party groups talk about the Tenth Amendment. Let's say them start flying their state flags too. What more scary symbol to big government politicians than millions of Americans taking pride in their states and saying no to the federal government when it overreaches?"...
