This nation is NOT the richest nation in the world anymore. This nation is TRILLIONS of dollars in debt. We cannot pay it. It is owed to our elderly and our military in the form of Soc. Sec. and unfunded military pensions and healthcare. That makes us deluded, not rich and that is the argument that needs to be made.
