The Electoral College Is Essential!
Here is the question that needs to be asked about the electoral college. In essence, the electoral college is how the STATES elect the POTUS. Because we are the UNITED STATES of America. If we abolish the electoral college, why should those states whose votes would be invalidated by the votes of states with higher populations remain in contract? What would be the point? It would make your state nothing more than a vassal of the states with higher populations.
