On Illegal Immigration

No one believes that the situation at the borders is a good thing. Is the situation optimal? No. Is it our fault? No. Do we have unlimited resources to deal with it in a way that might be better? Also no.

Many people think of the USA as the wealthiest nation in the world. The truth is it is the most indebted. We do not have unlimited resources and the resources we do have are strained beyond reasonable capacity. Perhaps, had Congress not devoted their days to finding new ways to spend money at our expense, we would be in a better position to deal with this situation. But "perhaps" doesn't churn the butter.

The truth is we are dealing with it according to the law(for a welcome change) and doing the best we can.

Maybe if people could stop playing "my team is better" we could get somewhere, but I suspect that the spirit of faction serves those in positions of power too well to allow it to stop. It serves some people very well to allow this situation(one in which the executive has to continually make temporary policies rather than Congress actually doing their job) or others to continue so that they can drag it out when they want to vilify or commend depending on what suits their goals that day.

This will be fixed when the people actually do their duty and research ALL the candidates, instead of using political parties as easy buttons, and vote for those who actually share their values instead of those who "can win".

"Reporter: “…How is this not specifically child abuse for these innocent children who are indeed being separated from their parents?”

Nielson: “So I want to be clear on a couple of other things. The vast majority, vast vast majority of children who are in the care of HHS right now — 10,000 of the 12,000 — were sent here alone by their parents. That’s when they were separated. So somehow we’ve conflated everything. But there’s two separate issues. 10,000 of those currently in custody were sent by their parents with strangers to undertake a completely dangerous and deadly travel alone. We now care for them. We have high standards. We give them meals, we give them education, we give them medical care. There’s videos, there’s TVs, I visited the detention centers myself. That would be my answer to that question.”"

"15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the Lord.

17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord." ~ Lev 19:15-18
