Pearl Harbor Day

They say that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. On this day, let us remember the attacks upon our nation soberly and with thought towards the future.

"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"

~ Psalm 107:21-31

Pearl Harbor was an external attack, and it really threw us for a loop. I think we are experiencing what we might call "an internal attack," a massive betrayal by our own people, especially our leaders, right now. It is less clearly defined than Pearl Harbor was, and we are even less able to rally to defend against it. Our ability to survive is much more in doubt today than it was in 1941.

I agree. I am also wondering what plans there are, if any, to address Mr. Obama's plans to "rule from day one" in the conservative camp.(assuming that the citizenship question is swept under the rug.)

Thank you for posting the video: "The American Form of Government" on your site. I shared it with my son and have no doubt that he will share it with his friends.

The gremlins strike again. the website is:

For some reason the links never work properly when I attempt to use the code on my comments.

Dear Mom,

I think you are mistaken about me posting any video. I do not have a web site on which to post anything. Sorry to disappoint you, but that is just how things are.

I have to rely on you, the Vanishing American, and others to do the heavy lifting of maintaining these very important web sites. I just try to make a small contribution by offering comments. Thank you for what you do.

Dr. D,
You are correct, my apologies. The video I was referring to was posted on DR's blog - The Maritime Sentry.

I do appreciate the comments and the compliment. Thank you.
