Duty, Honor, Sacrifice

This is more than a Memorial Day post. This is a call to duty. For over 200 years patriots have bled and died in the defense of this nation and the God given freedoms it has enshrined in it's Constitution. Our military has done their job-to protect us from threats abroad-and they have done it magnificently. They have done their duty by us and it is time to step up and do our part.

What is our part? Our part is to maintain the republic. To keep the nation as free as it was when it was founded and we have failed. We can put a stop to the tyrannical push of our current federal government, but we must do it now. We must reclaim our Constitution while we still may or suffer the loss of all that has been fought for over the past 200 years.

We owe this to those who shed their blood and gave their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to found and protect this nation. We owe it to our posterity. There is no excuse good enough for our failure thus far. There will be no excuse we can offer if we do not reclaim our nation.

"I have children and a family to consider". - So did the founders. Many lost their families, their wives, their children and never heard from them again.

"I want to obey the law". Then do it. The U S Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Without the rule of law there is no safety or security to be had. It is our duty to uphold that Constitution and to refuse to cooperate with any federal laws that are made contrary to it. In addition, kindly remember that every single man who signed the declaration of Independence was a traitor to England and could have been shot on sight.

"I don't want to make trouble." Trouble is here with or without you. The only question is, will you bestir yourself to oppose it, or will you allow it to run roughshod over your and your family's God given and constitutionally affirmed rights?

" I think that congress will sort it all out with a little more time." How much time do you think they need? So far, this Congress has authorized the NDAA . They have failed to repeal obamacare with all of it's egregious mandates. They re-authorized the patriot act. They are not challenging any of mr. obama's executive orders nor his eligibility-which should have been the first thing they did upon their swearing in, were they to keep their oaths.

"I don't know enough about this stuff to know what is the truth."  Then learn. Learn fast, because you don't have much time anymore. Start with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Then move on to your own state's Constitution. then the Federalist and the Anti-Federalist Papers and other writings of our founders.

" But everyone will laugh at me and call me names." Then man/woman up, put on your big boy/girl pants and decide with whom you stand - the communists and followers of Islam that are currently attempting to conquer this nation or the patriots who want to restore it.
"From the day on which an accommodation takes place between England and America, on any other terms than as independent States, I shall date the ruin of this country. a politic minister will study to lull us into security by granting us the full extent of our petitions. The warm sunshine of influence would melt down the virtue which the violence of the storm rendered more firm and unyielding. In a state of tranquillity, wealth, and luxury, our descendants would forget the arts of war and the noble activity and zeal which made their ancestors invincible. Every art of corruption would be employed to loosen the bond of union which renders our resistance formidable. When the spirit of liberty, which now animates our hearts and gives success to our arms, is extinct, our numbers will accelerate our ruin and render us easier victims to tyranny. Ye abandoned minions of an infatuated ministry, if peradventure any should yet remain among us, remember that a Warren and Montgomery are numbered among the dead. Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, What should be the reward of such sacrifices? Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship, and plow, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom--go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" ~ Samuel Adams

Will we see the end of this republic or a new beginning?

The bottom line, on this Memorial Day is that, our fellow citizens have fought and bled and died to maintain and preserve our freedoms from enemies abroad. Now it is our turn to restore the freedoms that the Lord has given us here at home. If we had kept our wits about us, never would the federal government have been allowed such leeway, but we did not. Thus it now falls to us to make the painful and hard decisions that are  necessary to restrain or replace our federal government in order to save ourselves and our posterity from the tyranny that is daily imposed upon us in ever greater amounts. May we turn from the wickedness that has flourished under the philosophy of moral relativity and may the Lord be with us again or we shall surely fail.

As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee." ~ Psalm 55:16-23

When the SHTF

(The frog doesn't always stay in the pot. This frog, for instance is on a second story window)
There is a lot of speculation out there regarding what is going to happen when the Stuff Hits The Fan, or, if you are more negative TEOTWAWKI. Notice that the preceding sentence said "when" not "if". That's because there are very few who are still of the opinion that we can fix what is wrong in this nation by the diligent application of the rule of law. Or rather, very few who have any faith that the people who have been elected to restore this nation and it's Constitution will actually do so.

For a long time I held out hope that we could reclaim the offices that are currently being held by oath breakers and criminals, but I am fast losing that hope.

The thing that seems most out of place though, are the many disaster scenarios being promulgated. The idea that society will implode and civilized behavior will go by the wayside, playing right into the hands of those who have been working for it, is rampant. Why? We have enough resources and resourceful people in this nation to overcome any number of disasters.

Look at hurricane Katrina. Yes, hurricane Katrina. Not the thoroughly corrupt New Orleans, but the rest of the three state area that was simply devastated by that hurricane. Did we see rioting? Looting? No. What we saw was civilized people coming together to help each other and the community. Before the storm even hit there were groups organizing housing for those would have lost their own and contact lists for the survivors. We saw churches and private organizations stepping up and helping to rebuild. And many still are. Sure there will be a few stinkers and bad spots here and there, that's just human nature, but overall, we are better than that.

Look at New York after 9/11. Did we see looting and wholesale violence against muslims? No. When there was a power outage shortly after that in New York, did we see violence and looting? No again. We saw Americans stepping up and helping each other. Directing traffic, offering rides to each other. We saw, in other words, calm and civilized behavior.

Why should any other scenario, short of invading troops from another nation, be any different? When we step back and look at the big picture, do we really think that Americans need such a thing as martial law? We the People are the authority behind our government. There is no situation in which the Constitution needs to be suspended. Our rights are unalienable and self evident. That means not subject to the whims of legislators of any rank run amok and mad with power. Shame on us for not removing them sooner, but that's another post.
(We are a loyal and helpful and generous and, hopefully, faithful people, as God has been to us.)
The truth is that Americans, thanks be to God, are a resourceful, generous and self-reliant people. Even were we to suffer an EMP attack, I have no doubt that anyone with even an ounce of electrical know how will be working furiously to restore basic power as quickly as possible. Far from the years long, bombed back to the 18th century scenario many have suggested, I submit to you, gentle readers, that it would be only a few weeks or months at most before we were up and running again and more thankful than ever for the nation that has been God's gift to us. No. The only people rioting in the streets will be those who have been put up to it by those who see such behavior as a way to transition this nation from a republic to an oligarchy, and we can ignore them or corral them for the local authorities as we choose.

I submit, to you gentle readers, the notion that, by the very American exceptionalism that God gave us to make this nation great, we are better than that. Leave for middle eastern countries and communist nations the riots that such disturbances bring. Let us bring our game up and show the world how a nation that God has blessed should behave. Prepare and store food and supplies by all means, that's just common sense, but don't fall for the notion that neighbors should start shooting each other because the power went off.
( I would advise against assuming that we cannot or will not rise to our own and each other's defense-we are a family.).
As for those nations that may be preparing to take advantage of such disruptions in America, that's why we will be keeping our Bibles open, our firearms cleaned, our skills sharp and our powder dry.

" And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious." ~ Isaiah 11:10

And a hesitant welcome to the FreeJingers

I have just discovered that someone has taken a screenshot of a conversation I had with a Facebook friend and posted it in FreeJinger . This is apparently a page for liberals to make fun of us "fundies", whatever that means.

In any case, it's a shame because I was about to stop requiring moderation on my comments here, but now, given the demonstrated ignorance of the posters on this thread, I think I will wait a bit longer. Apparently, these people, who do not even know the history of their beloved obama, are assuming that I would like to see him charged with treason because of the abundance of melanin in his skin rather than for the many excellent reasons I have outlined in other posts on this site. (Like his gift of aid and comfort to our enemies during time of war.)

The incivility of the left is constantly a source of amazement to me. If I saw a post like this on a friend or a friend of a friend's Facebook page, and had an objection to it, I would have addressed it there. Apparently the correct course of action for a progressive/liberal is to take a screen shot and post it somewhere else so they can make snarky comments without giving the object of their comments the opportunity to address the issues raised. But then what else would I expect from someone who frequents a site that calls itself "FreeJinger: A Quiver Full of Snark.

I am, however, thankful that "wolfie" was at least considerate enough to blur out names, because, as I have made no secret of my opinions here and in other places, my friend does not deserve to have their conversations re-posted without their knowledge and consent. To do so, is a type of moral cowardice, in my opinion, but at least this "wolfie" person had manners enough from somewhere to leave names out of it.

Since this person "wolfie" has also posted the address to this site on that thread, I thought it only apropos to welcome those who may cruise over from that site. Welcome to you and I hope you read and learn. I used to be a liberal too. Now I know more (because I research it) and am a conservative because I value truth and reality over ideology. I hope you do as well.

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: " ~ Matt 25:35

NO! It is not the obama campaigns new slogan, it is the state motto of Wisconsin and I, for one, am not giving it up. If you look here, you will find that "Forward" has been Wisconsin's state motto since 1851. Before that, the state's motto was "CIVILITAS SUCCESSIT BARBARUM" or "Civilization has taken the place of barbarism". It is on the Wisconsin  flag, the coat of arms and the state seal. I do believe that gives us "dibs", or whatever other way you say it in your neck of the woods. It is ours and Mr. obama may not have it.

It is just as inappropriate for them to hijack our state motto as it was for the obama team to design their own presidential looking seal back in 2008. but at least there were differences between that and the real seal,. (The real seal. seems disinclined to represent Mr. obama-but that's probably just a coincidence, not an indication of the levels of competency that Mr. obama inspires.)

I understand Mr. obama's wish to claim all attention during an election year(despite his ineligibility to hold the office.) And I understand that Wisconsin has been attracting some attention of late, not only for reclaiming fiscal sanity, but doing so in a way that appears diametrically opposed to what the obama regime intends for this nation. When I look at it like that, it almost makes sense that they would try to steal our motto, in a petty and childish sort of way.

It is Wisconsin's leadership, not obamas lack of it that deserves the motto "Forward" and we are keeping it as well as reminding the nation that we are a REPUBLIC, not a democracy and that the rule of law has some meaning here. Mr. Walker and the conservative members of the state legislature are showing actual leadership, not just taking credit for the hard work of our troops who are risking their lives overseas, in order to enhance his campaign.

"For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you." ~ 2Cor 8:17
