Common Sense Prevails - at least for now

Having shared videos of the NOAA Facts Forum on the proposed marine sanctuary, this blogger is pleased to share that common sense has prevailed and Governor Walker has pulled  his nomination. This does not mean the process has stopped - only that it will be much more difficult for NOAA to get their hands on that portion of Lake Michigan. But it is a step in the right direction.

From the Sheboygan Press:
“The addition of a new level of government for citizens to petition for permits and certifications for normal use of Lake Michigan is too much of a tradeoff for the negligible benefit to protecting shipwrecks,” Walker continued in his letter. “Wisconsin has and will continue to protect our submerged cultural resources.”
